is it possible to use photoshop instead of flash to make them
Anonymous

Yes, although I’m not familiar with photoshop enough to know… but I’m sure you could find some fine tutorials out there, Anon!

where (website) and how do you make your nigel gifs? im trying to make one but i cant find a website to let me add his head in

No website I’m afraid, I used to import the GIFs into Flash 8 and add his head on or whatever frame by frame! There is no shortcut to becoming a Nigel master, young Padawan.

Well poppets, after a fun-packed 2012 making about 100 Nigel GIFs I’ve decided to call it a day. I’ve seen a few of them enjoy great success (in the field of Thornberry GIFs, that is) and was even made a moderator of the Nigel Thornberry subreddit over on reddit. I now see them pop out at me when I’m browsing around (the Stitch belts a guy with a book one and the Scootaloo spanking Rainbow Dash especially) so I feel I have achieved the final Nirvana of the Thornberry GIF maker; the state of seeing your old stuff mercilessly reblogged and coming back to haunt you. Hurray!You can never say die, of course; it might just be sometime I’ll see a GIF that just begs to be Nigelled so much I won’t be able to resist it, but on the whole I now consider this blog finished and I won’t be updating it regularly or frequently from now on.Thanks for viewing, and for giving me what must surely now be the most famous shower curtain in Christendom!Your pal,Catfood McFly

Don’t ya think the result is Smashing ?

EDIT : I updated it. Now, his marvelous head moves too.(I thought that’d make it better. Not too sure about it, though.)

I’m a moderator over on reddit’s Nigel Thornberry subreddit, and I noticed this chap getting almost no <3. I think it deserved a lot more. Made in Spore by MEGAGUSTA132!

With permission (more like instruction) from Catfood McFly, the design for the infamous Nigel Thornberry “SPLASHING!” shower curtain is here (in this link, not the small image above)! Warning: Large file.
Of course you don’t have to use it on a shower curtain (but if you do, ArtsCow does that, although they do crop off quite a sizeable border, so I’ve enlarged the border on this one since the first version was made) - you could use it on a t-shirt, just to add a little Thornberry spice to your next wet t-shirt contest. Or maybe you could even print it on your bedsheets, and although you might not want a “splashing” bed (unless it’s a waterbed), be warned that snuggling up to Nigel may indeed result in a certain degree of moisture in your dreams… oh myyy…
Note: This is the original original design, with the more realistic-looking penguin which I changed to Nigel-Pingu for Catfood because he and I are big Pingu fans. Bringus, if you will.

Damn right, instruction! Now you can all go make your own and get your mitts off mine!ArtsCow shower curtain page linky

Here’s some detail of the various wonderful individual elements…

I got a new shower curtain for Christmas. It’s from my friend Brütaloo Mod.Look at it.I have a very small bathroom as you can see, so it really fills the space.It might take you a while to take it all in.I mean.Just look at it.

Merry Xmas, Nigel Watchers! Hope you get a SMASHING stocking this year!

At the bottom of every post, there's a little picture of Nigel. How'd you manage that? Also, this blog is a swirling vortex of pure talent and happiness. Thank you for being fantastic.

Surely, smashing? :3

You can do it too! You just have to customise your blog’s CSS. On “redux”, the code you want is on about line 80, which is the part that deals with the background to your posts. I changed mine to:

#wrapper #content .post{
margin: 0 0 40px 0;
width: 100%;
background: url(http://jill-sandwich.com/gfx/nigel.gif);
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-position: bottom center;
margin:.5em 0 1.5em;
padding-bottom:4em;
padding-top:.8em;
background-color: #fff

So what that does is add a background graphic (Nigel in this case, hosted on my own website) to the post, but non-repeated and pasted at the bottom middle. I also had to change the margins and padding a bit to accommodate him.
